1. How do you offer unlimited bandwidth?
   We claim unlimited for this reason: About 95% of our hosted sites use very little bandwidth at all during the month, and use very little disk space as well. But, we do have several larger sites that use, 30, 40, 65+ GB of bandwidth per month, and that's totally OK. It is because this averages out to a reasonable number that we are able to tell everyone unlimited bandwidth. We have no intention of kicking anyone off for going over the bandwidth limit at least until you get over 100 GB / month of traffic.

2. Can I run a bulletin board forum with my account?
   You sure can! We allow clients to use any PHP-powered bulletin board systems, such as the phpBB, VBulletin, Xoops.org, and other bulletin board systems without any problems. You can find PHP based scripts at www.hotscripts.com.
   
   CGI-script powered bulletin board systems are not allowed on our servers, due to excessive demands on server resources that can degrade performance for other hosting clients. One in particular, ikonBoard, is BANNED from use on our servers.

3. Can I get a static IP address?
   We can offer a static IP address on some of our servers for $4 / month or $24.00 if purchased by the year.

   However, to preserve the limited supply of IP addresses on the Internet, we discourage clients from requesting them. In fact, we have found that there really is NO need for a static IP address unless you need an SSL certificate. And, if a static IP address is requested when clients wish to view their site before the DNS has updated, we instead provide clients with a special preview URL that makes it easy to build your site before the DNS information is completely updated.

4. Are the plans upgradable, if so, does it cost anything?
   You can change service plan levels at any time with no fees for this.
   You just stop paying for previous level and pay for new service plan/level.

6. How much downtime will occur while I move my site to your servers?
   We can help you achieve 0% downtime -- You would first sign up for an account with us while still keeping your site on your old host. Then, using the domain preview URL we'll give you, its easy to test the site and make sure its working 100%. When you are satisfied with it, you can just contact your domain registrar and request that they change the DNS name servers for your domain to those shown below and in the welcome email we send you when your account is set up.
   
   You will maintain two functional versions of your site, and then, when ready, just repoint your domain name to the hosttec.net name servers. These name servers are:

7. Do you accept money orders?
   We have a handful of clients who actually send in money orders with their order each month, and this is perfectly OK. Do you use PayPal.com perhaps? If you have an account there, you can link it right to your bank account and not even need a credit card!
   
   If you still would rather not use PayPal, then it is fine if you send in the money order, just make sure it gets to us on time each month :)
